Giving Sheikh Hasina a chance to speak is a planned act of India: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has criticized India for giving former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is in India, a chance to make a political speech.
He said that such actions of Sheikh Hasina are disrespectful to the national sovereignty of Bangladesh and are not positive for the mutual relations between the two countries.
He said these things while talking to journalists while participating in a program organized to mark the 37th founding anniversary of the Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) at Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Thursday (August 6).
Rizvi alleged that Sheikh Hasina is currently staying in India after being accused in various cases. He claimed that the Bangladesh government has requested India to return her to the country under the extradition treaty, but no response has been received yet.
The BNP leader said that giving Sheikh Hasina a chance to make a political speech is a planned decision of Indian policymakers. According to him, this amounts to interference in the internal affairs of Bangladesh.
Comments on the July Movement
Rizvi said that many youth and students lost their lives in the July uprising. He commented that giving Sheikh Hasina the opportunity to speak in such a situation is disrespectful to the martyrs.
Appreciation of DAB's activities
Rizvi praised the organization's various activities at the DAB's founding anniversary ceremony.
He said that DAB has provided medical services to the common people during various crises. He claimed that the organization has also played a role in Corona, dengue and other health crises.
Rizvi alleged that many doctors associated with DAB were subjected to various types of harassment during the previous government.
Speech on health and development
Speaking on the country's health sector, Rizvi said that the current government is giving importance to health, education and economic development.
He said that various initiatives have been taken, including free dengue testing and vaccination programs for children.
DAB President Dr. Harun Al Rashid, Secretary General Dr. Shakil and other central leaders of the organization were present.
