A silent march and memorial meeting was held by the branch student body on the 5th death anniversary of Shaheed Abrar Fahad at Islami University (EB). Meanwhile, the leaders and activists of the organization demanded a democratic campus for safe and free intellectual practice.
A silent procession was taken out from the main gate of the university at 12:30 pm on Monday (October 7). The procession went to the central Shaheed Minar and offered wreaths. Later, the leaders and activists of the organization held a short memorial meeting at the same place.
Convener of the organization Shahed Ahmed, member secretary Masud Rumi Mithun, joint convener Anwar Parvez, member Rafiz and other leaders and activists were present in the memorial meeting.
Convenor of the meeting Shahed Ahmed said, Abrar Fahad was martyred in brutal torture of Chhatra League today. Abrar Fahad was the first martyr of Indian aggression and hegemony. Let Indian supremacy die, Bangladesh Mukti Pak was his slogan. We do not want domination and terror anywhere in Bangladesh including Islamic universities. We want a safe campus. No one can torture in the halls. We want a safe campus.
It should be noted that today is the fifth death anniversary of Abrar Fahader, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) Department of Electrical Engineering.
