Harassment of students, homosexuals and other complaints; EB students demand resignation of teacher

The students protested to demand the resignation of Assistant Professor Hafizul Islam of Development Studies Department of Islamic University (EB). At that time, the students made various complaints against the teacher, including harassing students, promoting homosexuality, threatening to throw them out of the campus.

On Monday (07 October) at 1 pm in front of Rabindra-Nazrul Kala Bhavan of the university, the students of the department held a protest march demanding the resignation of the teacher. Apart from this, the students complained of abuse of academic power by giving desired marks in examination and viva to the students preferred by the teacher and giving lower marks to others.

Meanwhile, when accused teacher assistant professor Hafizul Islam was called multiple times to inquire about the complaint, his number was found to be switched off.
After hearing the complaints, the vice chancellor said, give all your complaints in writing. Action will be taken as per law. An investigation committee will be formed with student representatives.
