Islamic University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Naqeeb Mohammad Nasrullah said, "The main objective of establishing Islamic University is to ensure international quality education and research. This university has reached its current stage through many ups and downs and changes in governance. At various times, the ruling group did not understand the main purpose of this university. Now is the time to seize this opportunity. I am committed to working towards the realization and advancement of the Islamic University. Alumni have an important role to play in this work.

He said these things in his address as the chief guest at the general meeting of the Islamic University Alumni Association at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon in the capital on Friday (October 25) morning.
He also said, "Islamic University was established for one of the purposes of creating a new trend of education by combining modern and Islamic education through the announcement at the Mecca Conference. While other universities were established to expand regional education, Islamic University has an international character."
Besides, he said, "The role of the university is unique in making the renowned citizens of the country. The students of the university are spread across the borders of the country. Today's event is not just a general meeting, it is an anand mela, a meeting mela. You are the core values of the university. Therefore, teachers are the ones to take this university forward. "Alumni have a lot of responsibilities as well as officers."

Alumni convener Muhammad Nazmul Haque Saeedi presided and addressed the general meeting organized under the slogan 'United in Brotherhood'.
Prof. Dr. Zillur Rahman and Professor Dr. Member Secretary Muhammad Abdul Hai delivered the welcome address under the direction of Abdul Mannan. DIG Dr. Ashrafur Rahman, Abdul Hai Md. Saifullah, Professor Dr. Abdul Hannan (Rabi), Professor Dr. Abdul Awal, Professor Dr. Shahid Md. Rezwan, Professor Dr. Abu Sina, Maulana Tarek Manwar, Professor Dr. Md. Iqbal Hossain, Advocate Abdul Awal, Professor Dr. Md. Nashir Uddin Mizhi and others.
In the president's speech, Nazmul Haque Saeedi said, "The Islamic University was supposed to be an international standard university, but it was not due to various obstacles and conspiracies. Especially in the last 15 and a half years, EB was almost destroyed. The original form of this university was changed. Now it will proceed in a new form."
In the afternoon the second session announced the Alumni Convening Committee and approved the Constitution. Nazmul Haque Saeedi was elected as convener of Islami University Alumni Association and Muhammad Abdul Hai as member secretary. It was decided that they would form a full committee through a search committee.
Later, the day-long event concluded with a colorful cultural performance. Apart from hundreds of thousands of registered alumni of Islamic University, teachers and officials of the university and prominent people participated in it.
