IU student's urge to save father

Saikat Islam, the son of a day laborer, is a brilliant student. Studying in the first year of Islamic University (EB) Law Department. His father is the sole source of family income along with the education and incidental expenses of his five siblings. But suddenly the poor family got injured in a road accident and the way of earning income was stopped.

It is known that Saikat's father Zahidur Rahman (60) suffered a fatal road accident on August 17. His father suffered serious head injuries.

Saikat said that after the accident, his father underwent an operation on his head at Dhaka Medical Hospital on August 20. In the operation, one side of his father's head (skull) was opened. Later, the forest (skull) needs to be restored, said the doctor in charge. One lakh rupees are required for treatment.

Saikat also said that the family could not afford to provide money to cover the medical expenses of his father. So far all medical expenses are being borne through loans. His family fell into extreme financial crisis. Unable to handle the expenses, he was released from Dhaka Medical for 8 days and later admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical in Bogra.

Saikat said about the ongoing situation, for the last three months, father could not behave like a normal person. Next Monday (November 18) I will take my father to the hospital. Depending on the improvement of the illness, the doctor may restore the father's skull. Otherwise, treatment should be done at Dhaka Medical.'

In order to save his father's life, Saikat's family approached the rich people of the society including the university administration. He urged everyone to stand by him.
