Tangail Sadar Upazila Hugra Union Headmaster Abul Kalam Azad has been accused of corruption and money embezzlement. Residents have filed a complaint with the Tangail Sadar Upazila Executive Officer on Wednesday, August 28.
It is mentioned in the complaint letter that for a long time Anuhla was running with reputation as per the rules of secondary and higher secondary school starting from high school results but the corruption of this school started after the joining of the current headmaster Abul Kalam Azad.
Azad sir got his appointment in this school through 15 lakh rupees. This teacher has embezzled lakhs of rupees by recruiting and trading at different times of the school. The former president of the school's management committee helped in his corruption. From the last few years, this school has recruited two office assistants for the post of 12 lakh rupees, two peons for the post of 12 lakh rupees, 5 lakh for the post of night watchman, 3 lakh for the post of nanny, and 15 lakh for the post of lab assistant.
In the last 8 years, three crore fifty lakh rupees have been collected for school session charges, examination free, salary. 40% of the money collected goes to the general fund. With the help of the former president of the management committee of the school, the headmaster embezzled the money through fake vouchers, keeping the remaining money in hand. With the help of the former president of the management committee, the headmaster withdrew the money from the general fund without regard to the rules of management of the register. Government stipends were not properly paid in the past. Tuition fees, fines and certificates are not credited to the general fund.
He embezzled 3 lakh rupees from the construction project of the guide wall of the school building along with additional money in the past. Headmaster Abul Kalam Azad does not attend the school regularly. He failed to control the school teachers. The standard of education in schools has reached the lowest level. So the demand of our local people is to withdraw this headmaster Abul Kalam Azad and protect the school. The quality of education should be brought back.
In this regard, District Assistant Education Officer Moniruzzaman Mia said, the situation is the same in the entire district, we are investigating. If evidence is found through investigation, legal action will be taken.
Anuhla High School headmaster Abul Kalam Azad could not be reached when he tried to contact him about the complaint.
