Load shedding is increasing day by day in Kartia, Madarjani, Khudirampur, Birpushia, BSIC industrial city Tartia and part of the municipality under Tangail Power Development Board (BUBO)-1. People's lives are fed up with it. During the day, electricity goes off around 8 am and comes on at 5 pm. Presently the current demand under Bubo-1 is 24 MW but available is 12 MW. This information was obtained from Electricity Distribution Division-1. Not only during the day, but also during the night, the power goes out several times. Such complaints of electricity consumers.
Meanwhile, the customers are angry due to the lack of electricity in the intense heat. Also, old people and children have become sick due to frequent load shedding in extreme heat. Many people are suffering from cold-related diseases including cough and sweating in summer.
A housewife named Bachiran of Tarutia village of the upazila said that the electricity goes off after 8 in the morning and comes at 5 in the afternoon. Also power goes off 7-8 times at night. How will people sleep, even if they sleep a little, if they wake up in the heat, they can see that there is no electricity.
Alamin Miah of Madarjani village of Kortia Union said that there has been extensive loadshedding in addition to intense heat for the past 8-9 days. There is no electricity all day, electricity comes in the evening, I feel a little sleepy, in fact, when I wake up in the summer, I see that there is no electricity. In this condition, I cannot sleep properly at night. As a result, there are many inconveniences to work. He said, I have never seen such load shedding before. Children and old people are also getting sick due to frequent load shedding.
Tarotiya area resident of Bishik industrial city. Moynal Haque said that there was load shedding in August but more load shedding has occurred in the last few days. There is no electricity during the day and there is load shedding 7-8 times during the night as well. How can people live in this summer? He also said that even if there is no electricity during the day, one can spend the day sitting in the trees here and there. It is very bad when there is no electricity at night. For the last few days my little boys and girls are getting sick at night not being able to sleep.
A tailor named Ajiron of Khudirampur village said, I make a living by sewing garments with two sewing machines in my house. There is no electricity during the day, I can't even sew clothes. I am worried about how the family will run.
Many people including Masud Mia, Tarotia Achim Uddin, Mostafa Murad of Madarzani village said that besides the loadshedding of electricity, if there is a fault in the electricity cable, it is not easy to fix it. Even if you call the office repeatedly, people don't come, if you turn up at night, people don't come. Due to their such service, many customers express their anger but cannot say anything.
Tangail Electricity Development Board (BUBO)-1 engineer Khandaker Kamruzzaman said that there are 48,500 customers under the sales center-1. Here the demand is 24 MW whereas the allocation is 10-12 MW. How to fill this gap? Still we try to serve customers as much as possible.
When asked about the manpower in the office, he said, there are 103 people required in this office, and 39 people. Only 14 of them are mechanical. How is it possible to provide maximum service with so little mechanical, still trying.
