To control the law and order situation in Tangail and the safety of passengers, special patrolling activities of the police are continuing at various places including the Dhaka-Tangail-Yamuna bridge highway. Tangail Superintendent of Police Saiful Islam Shantu is patrolling important areas of the district every night. At this time, if any person is suspected, he is being interrogated. The law and order situation in the district is getting normal.
It is known from related and police sources that since the fall of the Awami League government in the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5, the police activities in the district have come to a standstill. Special patrolling activities are being conducted under the leadership of the Superintendent of Police from September 1 to restore police activities to their previous status and build a people-friendly police force. Police activity has been increased in various important places of upazila including Dhaka-Tangail-Yamuna bridge highway and district town. At the same time, police activities have been intensified to arrest terrorists, extortionists, absconding convicts, recover illegal weapons, drugs and explosives and stop evasion. As part of this, this patrol is given from 8 pm to 4 am on Thursday.
At that time, Superintendent of Police Saiful Islam Santu said that the main purpose of the patrol program is to eliminate various crimes on the highway and at the same time to conduct this program to protect the safety of passengers and bus-truck robberies. We are constantly patrolling at night. Also the sanctuaries of criminals are being identified and work is being done on those places. Our activities will continue.
