Former Minister of Agriculture in Tangail. A case has been filed against 117 people including Abdur Razzak. Besides, another 200/250 people have been named as accused. It was informed from the concerned court on Thursday morning that the judge took cognizance of the case and ordered the officer-in-charge of Madhupur police station to take it as an FIR.

Earlier on Wednesday, this case was filed in Tangail Senior Judicial Magistrate Madhupur Thana Amli Court. Judge Pashupati Biswas took cognizance of the case and reserved it for order. The accused have been accused of attacking a procession during the anti-discrimination student movement. Zahid Hasan son of Chanoar Hossain of Malauri village of Madhupur upazila filed this case as plaintiff.
It is alleged in the case that on the afternoon of August 4, a peaceful procession was taken out in front of Madhupur Hospital under the leadership of the local coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement. When the procession reached Madhupur bus stand at Anaras Chatwar. On the orders of Abdur Razzak, the other accused attacked the students with various indigenous weapons including machetes and sticks. Several protestors including the plaintiff in the case were injured.
Plaintiff's lawyer Advocate M. A. Malek Adnan said that during the anti-discrimination movement, the case has been filed under several sections of the law for the attack on the students' procession in Madhupur. The Hon'ble Judge took cognizance of the case and recorded the statement of the plaintiff. Later he directed the officer-in-charge of Madhupur police station to take the case as an FIR.
