Jaipurhat murder case, accused 217 including Sheikh Hasina-Kader-Hasan Mahmud

Former Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina accused of killing a young man named Mehdi (25); Former Minister of Roads and Bridges and general secretary of the party Obaidul Quader; A case has been filed against 217 people including former foreign minister and party's joint general secretary Hasan Mahmud.
Mehdi's wife Jasmine Akhtar filed the case in Jaipurhat Chief Judicial Magistrate Amli-1 court on Tuesday (August 20) afternoon. The senior judicial magistrate of that court. Atiqur Rahman directed the officer-in-charge (OC) of Joypurhat police station to record the case as a statement. Defendant's lawyer Abdul Momen Fakir confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post.
There have been two cases against Sheikh Hasina in Jaipurhat district including Mehndi murder case. Two cases have been charged with murder. In both the cases, Sheikh Hasina has been mentioned as the director.
Apart from Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Hasan Mahmud, the notable accused in the Mehdi murder case are- former Member of Parliament of Jaipurhat-2 Constituency and former Whip of Jatiya Sangsad Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan, former Member of Parliament of Jaipurhat-1 Constituency Samchul Alam Dudu, District Awami League President Arifur Rahman Rocket, General Secretary Zakir Hossain, Kalai Upazila Awami League President Minfuzur Rahman Milon, General Secretary Fazlur Rahman, Kshetlal Upazila Parishad Chairman Dulal Mia Sardar, Akkelpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Mokched Ali, Panchbibi Municipality Mayor Habibur Rahman Habib, Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan's brother Abu Saeed Al Mahbub Chandan, Kshetlal Upazila Awami League President Anwaruzzaman Talukdar Nadeem, District Chhatra League President Zakaria Hossain Raza, General Secretary Abu Bakkar Siddique Reza.
According to the source of the case, after the Prime Minister of the 12th Parliament, Sheikh Hasina, resigned and left the country on August 5, the agitated crowd attacked various Awami League establishments and vandalized and set them on fire. When the excited crowd chased the leaders and activists who were stationed in front of the office of Joypurhat Awami League along with other places in the country, they entered the Joypurhat Sadar police station with weapons, cocktails, sticks, hasua, bricks and stones. Around 3 pm that day, the excited crowd went outside the police station and raised various slogans against the Awami League leaders. The army tried to calm the situation. However, when the agitated crowd broke the east and west walls of the police station and entered, the Awami League activists stationed in the police station started throwing cocktails, petrol explosions and bullets and set fire to the motorcycle garage, police station building and corridor. Mehdi was shot as a result of cocktail, petrol explosion and shooting by Awami League leaders. He died on the way when he left for treatment after being shot.
