The government has decided to open the government primary schools, which were closed due to the quota reform movement, on August 4. However, primary schools of 12 city corporations and municipalities of Narsingdi district will remain closed for the time being.
This decision was taken at the meeting of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and the Department of Primary Education on Wednesday (July 31).

He also said that no change has been made in the class schedule. Teaching will continue as per previous routine. However, the class time can be reduced or increased according to the curfew time of the concerned district. The district primary education officer will decide the matter.
Earlier, on the night of July 17, the closure of classes was announced in the primary schools of 8 city corporation areas of the country. However, district and upazila level primary schools across the country were open. On July 24, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education ordered the closure of all primary schools across the country for an indefinite period.
