Bangladesh government has allowed the export of 3 thousand metric tons of hilsa on the occasion of autumn Durga Puja. This year, 49 companies in the country have received approval to export 3 thousand metric tons of hilsa. Benapole Customs Deputy Commissioner Athai Lo Chowdhury said that the exporting company called Sajjad Enterprise of Jatrabari area of Dhaka is supplying hilsa to the importing company called RJ International of Bangaon area of India as per the terms of the contract at the price of 10 US dollars. The value of which in Bangladeshi Taka is 1150 Taka. A C&F agent company called Bangladesh Logistics is doing export activities.
It is known that the Fish Importers Association (FIA), an organization of Indian fish importers in Kolkata, requested Bangladesh government to consider the approval of Hilsa export from Bangladesh on the occasion of Durga Puja on September 9.
