Chief Advisor asks to organize student union elections!

Jahangirnagar University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan met with Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Dr. Yunus. This important meeting was held at the State Guest House Jamuna on Monday.
Professor Kamrul Ahsan presented the details of the recent development of the university and various steps taken to improve the quality of life of students in the meeting. Along with this, he also discussed the progress of the Jahangirnagar University Central Student Union (JACSU) elections.
The Vice Chancellor said that the roadmap for the JACSU elections has already been published. The schedule of the elections will be announced on February 1. The draft voter list was also published on January 10. He sought the guidance and advice of the Chief Advisor in this regard.
In response, the Chief Advisor said that if the university wants, it can organize the JACSU elections according to their plan. He said, "If you want, then organize the JACSU elections. Organize it successfully under your leadership."
Professor Kamrul Ahsan mentioned that since the establishment of Jahangirnagar University in 1971, JACSU elections have been held only 9 times. The last election was held in 1992. This platform has been inactive for about 33 years.
The meeting also discussed the security of teachers and students and some recent incidents. Highlighting the attack on students, teachers and journalists during the mass uprising in July, the Vice-Chancellor said that the university authorities have allocated about 3.7 million taka for the treatment of the injured.
The meeting was attended by the university's Deputy Vice-Chancellors Professor Mahfuzur Rahman and Professor Sohel Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Abdur Rab and many others.
