More than 80,000 members of the army will be deployed to strengthen security in the upcoming national elections, Home Affairs Advisor Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said. He added that members of the police, RAB and BGB, as well as other law enforcement agencies, will also play an active role in election security.
The Home Affairs Advisor gave this information at a press conference after visiting the Tegharia High School polling station in Dhaka-3 parliamentary constituency on Monday. He said, “Earlier, there were two Ansar members at each center, but this time an additional armed Ansar member will also be deployed for the security of the presiding officer.”
He also mentioned that the spread of fake news in many neighboring countries has stopped due to the proper work of the country's media.
It is worth noting that Chief Election Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus recently announced that the 13th National Parliamentary Election will be held before February next year, before Ramadan.
