For the past decade and a half, the Bangladesh Cricket Board was busy with discussions and various activities. Apart from the usual work, there were many prominent faces of the country's politics around the Sher-e Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. Member of Parliament for Kishoreganj-6 Nazmul Hasan Papon was the president of the cricket board for many years.
Not only Nazmul Hasan, many other politicians were around the cricket board. Former BCB president AHM Mustafa Kamal (Comilla-10), former BCB president Saber Hossain Chowdhury (Dhaka-9), former BCB director Golam Dastgir Gazi (Narayanganj-1) were members of parliament. Among the directors, AJM Nasir Uddin was the former mayor of Chittagong City Corporation and the central leader of Chittagong Awami League.
