On Saturday (October 5) afternoon, the forest department recovered the snake from a bamboo in Nandagach village on the border of Debnagar union of the upazila. Later the snake was sent to Dinajpur Ram Sagar National Park through Upazila Forest Department. There the python told the snake to be freed.

According to the forest department, the length of the recovered python was about 14 feet and weight was 9 kg 200 grams. The forest department believes that the snake has entered Bangladesh through the Indian border due to ongoing heavy rains and landslides.

According to various sources, the locals saw the snake hanging in a bamboo grove adjacent to the house of a man named Sadekul Islam, 500 yards from the 5th sub pillar area of ​​Main Pillar 741 in the border area under Debnagar Sukani BOP of Nilphamari 56 BGB Battalion. However, as the snake is bigger and more aggressive than the pythons previously recovered in different areas of the upazila, the concerned residents contacted the upazila administration. Later, the snake was rescued with the help of forest department beat officers and local people. Later, the snake was taken from the spot to Tentulia Upazila Parishad area. The rescued snake has been sent to Ramsagar National Park in Dinajpur for release in the open as per the Wildlife Conservation Act.

Nurul Huda, Beat Officer of Social Forest Department, Tentulia, told the mediapersons that the snake was rescued and packed from the bamboo grove of a person named Sadekul with the help of locals. We sent the snake to Dinajpur Ramsagar National Park. There the snake will be released.

In this regard, Tentulia Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Fazle Rabbi said, after getting to know about python snake through the locals, he sent the people of the forest department to the spot. Later the snake was rescued with the help of locals. The snake will be released in Dinajpur Ramsagar National Park. Before this, the python snake was seen several times in different areas of Tentulia upazila. We believe the snake entered Bangladesh through the Indian border due to the ongoing heavy rains and landslides.
