Attack on Nural Pagla's court, 5 arrested for attacking police

Five people have been arrested in connection with the attack on the court of the controversial Nurul Haque alias Nural Pagla in Goalanda, Rajbari. They were arrested in a raid conducted overnight on Saturday and sent to court on Sunday afternoon.

The arrested are: Shafin Sardar, Masud Mridha, Hiru Mridha, Enamul Haque alias Johnny and Kazi Apu. Rajbari Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Sharif Al Rajib said that the five people have been arrested in a raid following a case of attack on police and vandalism of vehicles.

According to sources in the case, the court and house of Nural Pagla were attacked from 3 pm to 6 pm after Friday prayers. The attackers took Nural Pagla's body from the grave and burned it. At least fifty people were injured in the attack, including 10-12 policemen. Two police and UNO vehicles were vandalized. One person was killed in the attack.

Goalanda Ghat Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Salim Mollah has filed a case. Three to three and a half thousand unknown people have been named as accused in the case. However, no case has been filed by Nural Pagla's family yet.
