A photo of several bags filled with money floating in a river has gone viral on social media and has created widespread curiosity. The photo shows at least seven bags filled with one hundred, five hundred and one thousand taka notes lying in muddy water. Various types of dirt are also floating next to them. However, the question has been raised from the beginning, are these real money or something fake?

After the photo went viral, many people started giving various explanations. Some claimed that it could be related to a bank robbery in Chittagong. A businessman on social media also shared the photo with the idea that perhaps the looted money was thrown into the river because he could not hide it.

However, law enforcement agencies have finally unraveled the mystery. Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Karnaphuli Naval Police Station, told the media that the viral photo is not real, but was created using artificial intelligence or AI technology. It has no connection with any real incident.

He further said that spreading such misleading and baseless information is a crime. It creates confusion among the common people and wastes the time of law enforcement agencies.

The incident has once again proven that not all information or images spread on social media may be true. Therefore, it is important to verify anything before sharing or believing it.
