The residential seats of four students have been cancelled on charges of involvement in immoral activities in the hostel of the capital's Government Unani and Ayurvedic Medical College. Five people, including an outsider, were handed over to the police in the same incident, and a mobile court sentenced them to 15 days in prison. The college authorities said that the term of the sentence has already expired.

Among those punished are several students of BAMS and BUMS departments, two of whom are also known to be leaders of the college branch Chhatra Dal. It is alleged that after a student was detained on the college campus on the night of April 22 in an objectionable situation with an outsider, the names of several others came to light during interrogation.

Later, the college administration handed over the accused to the police station and decided to cancel their residential seats in an emergency academic council meeting on April 23. Multiple sources in the college claimed that various information was found from mobile phones during the investigation and the involvement of several other students has also come to light.

College Principal Dr. Md. Rashiduzzaman Khan confirmed the incident and said that although the residential seats were cancelled as a disciplinary measure, the students' student status will remain intact. The incident has sparked discussions and various reactions on campus.
