A horrific robbery incident took place in Tentulia, Panchagarh. On Sunday (November 9) evening, masked miscreants robbed housewife Farida Begum of her gold ornaments and four lakh ten thousand taka at the house of Abdul Motaleb in Magura village of Sadar Union by holding a knife to her throat.
Family sources said that after evening, some miscreants entered the house by cutting the fence from the tea garden behind the house. Farida Begum was alone in the house at that time. They demanded the key of the cupboard at gunpoint. Even though she gave them another key, the miscreants took out the key of the cupboard and brought it out of the house. One miscreant also snatched the housewife's nose ring and fled.
Farida Begum lost consciousness in panic immediately after the incident. Upon learning of the matter, her husband Abdul Motaleb rushed home from the market. When the news spread, locals, political figures and local leaders and people quickly reached the spot.
Victim Farida Begum said that the people had masks on their faces, so they could not be identified. The miscreants fled with four lakh taka and gold ornaments from Sukesh.
Neighbor Jhunu said, “Such a robbery has never happened in this village before. There is a need to investigate quickly and bring the culprits to justice.” Conscious citizens of the area have called for strengthening online gambling, drugs and security so that such incidents can be prevented in the future.
