Testimony in the case of disappearance and torture against 17 people including Sheikh Hasina

The testimony is being held today in the case of crimes against humanity filed by the Task Force for Interrogation (TFI) cell of RAB on charges of disappearance and torture. There are a total of 17 accused in the case, including ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The testimony will be held in a judicial panel led by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, Chairman of the International Crimes Tribunal-1. The identity of this important witness has been kept secret for security reasons.
According to prosecution sources, this is the testimony of the fifth witness in the case. The testimony was supposed to be taken on June 3, but it was later postponed to today. Earlier, four witnesses have already given their statements in court.
Out of the 17 accused in the case, 10 are currently arrested and are in the Dhaka Cantonment Sub-Jail. On the other hand, 7 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, are absconding.
The prosecution said the case is an important part of the crimes against humanity related to allegations of disappearances and torture, the trial of which is currently ongoing at the tribunal.
