Shehrin Amin Bhuiya (Monami), a teacher and Assistant Proctor at the University of Dhaka, has alleged that she has received death threats through calls from multiple mobile numbers.
In a Facebook post on Sunday (February 15), she made the claim and shared several screenshots showing numerous calls from unfamiliar numbers.
On her verified Facebook page, she wrote, “Since February 13, I have been facing numerous death threats. This is just one of them.”
Mentioning BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman in her post, Monami questioned, “Dear Tarique Rahman, is this your women-friendly and safe Bangladesh?”
In her concluding remarks, she wrote, “Every Muslim should be prepared for death. And I have been prepared since July 31, 2024.”
Earlier, Monami filed a case under the Cyber Security Act at Shahbagh Police Station, accusing individuals of distorting her photos and posting obscene comments about her on Facebook.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media. No official statement from law enforcement authorities has been issued yet regarding the latest allegations.
