Shakib Khan returns 65 lakh taka of grant under pressure!

Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan has finally returned the 65 lakh taka grant he received from the government. He received this grant for the production of the movie 'Maya' in the 2021-22 fiscal year. But even after three years, the popular actor has faced criticism as the work on the movie has not started.
Information and Broadcasting Ministry Secretary Mahbuba Farzana confirmed the matter to the media and said, "A letter was sent to Shakib Khan on May 12. It said that legal action will be taken against him if he does not produce the movie or return the money within the stipulated time. After that, he returned the money."
She also said, "There is a rule to complete the production of the movie within 9 months of receiving the grant. However, the time can be extended by showing reasonable reasons. But Shakib Khan did not apply for an extension of time. Rather, he had withheld the money for a long time. So he was forced to return the money under pressure."
It is learnt that young actress Pooja Cherry was supposed to act opposite Shakib Khan in the movie 'Maya'. However, the shooting of the movie has not started and it is facing uncertainty.
The incident has led to mixed reactions in the film industry. While some have called Shakib Khan's move irresponsible, many are looking positively at the return of the donation.
