A Bangladeshi woman named Yasmin was brutally killed with a hammer in Florida, USA. Donald Trump reacted to the incident.
In a post on social media on Thursday night (April 9) local time, Trump blamed the immigration policy of former President Joe Biden's administration for the murder. He claimed that the accused had already been ordered to leave the country but was staying in the United States under the Special Security Program.
Trump said in his post that such 'Special Security Status' programs are being abused and his administration has taken steps to stop it. However, he also complained that the implementation is being difficult due to court obstacles.
It is learned that the accused Joaquin, a citizen of Haiti, entered the United States in August 2022. Although he was ordered to be deported due to his illegal stay, he was later granted a temporary visa, which expires in 2024.
A video of the incident shows Yasmin coming out of a gas station vandalism scene when the accused attacked her. She fell to the ground with the first blow, and then died on the spot after several more blows.
Police later arrested the accused and he is said to have confessed to the murder during questioning.
The incident has sparked a new debate over immigration policy in the United States. Analysts say it could further intensify the political debate.
