Trump says Putin will help US get Iran's uranium

Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered to help the US resolve the crisis over Iran's uranium stockpile, US President Donald Trump said.
In an interview in the Oval Office on Wednesday (April 29), Trump said that Putin is interested in playing a role in the current situation by taking control of Iran's enriched uranium. However, he also made it clear that he wants an end to the war in Ukraine before accepting any cooperation in this regard.
Trump said that the telephone dialogue between them was "very productive" and that a solution to the Ukraine conflict could come relatively quickly. He also mentioned that Russia could join Iran's uranium enrichment process and help move that stockpile elsewhere.
Earlier, Russia had offered to take charge of Iran's enriched uranium, similar to the JCPOA. Although Trump did not directly reject the offer, he reiterated that his main priority is to end the war in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the international community, including the administration of Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga, is monitoring the situation. According to analysts, Trump's strategy is creating diplomatic pressure with two goals: on the one hand, controlling Iran's nuclear capabilities and on the other, ending the war in Ukraine.
Although no specific plan to end the war has been announced, the Putin-Trump talks are seen as a sign of a new equation in international politics. It remains to be seen how effective this diplomatic initiative can be in both the Iran and Ukraine crises.
