Another 1-11 plot underway: Nahid Islam

National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam has expressed his fear that a plan is underway to create an unstable situation like the 2007 '1-11' in the country again. He made this comment in a post on his verified Facebook ID on Friday (May 23) night.
Nahid Islam said, "We want Bangladesh's politics to be independent and sovereign. But repeated attempts have been made to divide the country, weaken national unity. This time too, a similar plot is underway."
He claimed, "After banning the Awami League, now a new plan is being made from Delhi - to create unrest in the country, to confuse people. Once again, an attempt is being made to create a 1-11-like situation by obstructing democracy."
Nahid further said, “Now is the time for patriotic people to unite. Those who love Bangladesh, those who respect religion and reforms, all of them must stand united. Patriotic members of the army must also strive to protect the sovereignty of the country.”
In a Facebook post, Nahid referred to Dr. Yunus and said, “He must be responsible for the promises made to the people—reform, justice and voting rights. The political crisis must be resolved politically. We hope that a declaration will come in July within the stipulated time.”
He further said, “The trial of the July genocide must begin before the elections. Along with this, a roadmap must be given. The elections to the Constituent Assembly and the Legislative Assembly must be held simultaneously with the aim of formulating a new constitution.”
