The interim government has acknowledged that all six demands of the students protesting over the recent plane crash at Dhaka's Milestone School and College, including the casualties, are reasonable. This information was given in an official statement sent by the press wing of the government's chief advisor.
Education Advisor CR Abrar, Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul and Press Secretary to the chief advisor Shafiqul Alam went to the Uttara Milestone School and College campus on Tuesday (July 22) afternoon and spoke directly with the protesting students. After exchanging views with the students, they presented the government's position to journalists.
After the discussion, Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul said that an information center has been set up at Milestone School to collect and coordinate information on those killed, injured and missing in the accident. The information is being updated from here constantly. In addition, measures are being taken to provide compensation, rehabilitation and trauma management support to the families of the deceased and injured.
The government has expressed regret over the allegations of physical harassment of students by some members of the army while controlling the crowd. The legal advisor also said that the army authorities will be informed to take appropriate action in this incident.
He also said that necessary instructions will be given to the Air Force to ensure that training flights are not operated in populated areas in the future.
In addition, Education Advisor CR Abrar said that the date of the HSC examination scheduled for July 24 has been postponed. The new date of the HSC examination will be announced after the regular examination is over.
