The continuous upward trend in the country's stock market has brought back new confidence among investors. On Tuesday (July 22), the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - both markets - completed trading with a big rise. The share prices of most companies increased on the day, which has received a positive response in the market.
Market analysis shows that the share prices of most companies on the DSE continued to increase since the beginning of the day. At the end of the day, the share prices of a total of 173 companies increased, the prices of 151 decreased and the prices of 69 remained unchanged. As a result, the main index of the DSE, DSEX, increased by 50 points to 5,270 points compared to the previous day. On the other hand, the DSE Shariah Index increased by 14 points to 1,161 points and the DSE-30 Index increased by 33 points to 2,030 points.
However, despite the increase in the index, the volume of transactions decreased slightly. The total transaction value on the DSE was Tk 722.29 crore, which is about Tk 138 crore less than the Tk 860.70 crore on the previous working day. Bangladesh Shipping Corporation played the biggest role in the transaction, with a total of Tk 292.2 lakh worth of shares traded. City Bank, which was in second place, traded Tk 207.9 crore, and Orion Infusion, which was in third place, traded Tk 198.3 crore.
The list of top 10 companies traded on the DSE also includes: Khan Brothers PP Oven Bags, Express Insurance, British American Tobacco, BRAC Bank, Beximco Pharma, Eastern Bank and Sea Pearl Beach Resort.
On the other hand, the overall price index CASPI on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) increased by 81 points. Out of a total of 232 companies traded on the CSE today, the share prices of 89 companies increased.
According to analysts, investors are becoming active again in the market amid political stability, newly announced monetary policy, and the release of companies' financial reports. This continuous rise is restoring investor confidence and creating a positive mood in the market.
