Justice Md. has been appointed as acting chief justice of the country. Ashfaqul Islam.

Meanwhile, 5 judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court have decided to resign. All of them will submit their resignation letters to the President by today.

The 5 judges of the Appellate Division who resigned are Justice M Inayetur Rahim, Justice Abu Zafar Siddiqui, Justice Jahangir Hossain, Justice Md. Shahinur Islam and Justice Kashefa Hossain.
Earlier, Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan has resigned from the Ministry of Law.
