A defamation case has been filed against NCP leader Sarjis Alam on charges of spreading false propaganda involving BNP in the murder of journalist Tuhin in Gazipur. Bason Thana BNP president Tanvir Siraj filed the case in the Gazipur Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday (August 12).
The plaintiff's lawyer Siddiqur Rahman said that journalist Tuhin was killed due to the recording of a video by a criminal gang. But Sarjis Alam, without knowing the matter, spread various false propaganda involving BNP in public and in the media, which has damaged the party's image. The case has been filed in view of the party's central directives.
The case was heard in the court of Judge Alamgir Al Mamun of Gazipur Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court-2. After the hearing, the judge took cognizance of the case and handed over the investigation to the CID.
