Shahjahan Chowdhury at Iftar Mahfil: “Tarique Rahman is a worthy Prime Minister of Bangladesh”

Shahjahan Chowdhury, MP from Satkania-Lohagara constituency in Chittagong, said that BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has acquired the leadership qualities and political experience to be a worthy Prime Minister of Bangladesh. His comments have sparked new discussions in the political arena.
He made these remarks as a special guest at an Iftar Mahfil organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Chittagong Metropolitan at the GEC Convention Hall in Chittagong city on Sunday (March 1).
Shahjahan Chowdhury said that as the son of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman has been involved in the country’s politics for a long time. He also commented that he has prepared himself for leadership through various adversities, movements, struggles and political experiences. Therefore, he believes that Tarique Rahman can play an important role in the future leadership of the country.
He further said that a new reality has emerged in the political situation of the country through various ups and downs. In this situation, as the opposition party, they want to play a responsible role in the interest of democracy, stability and development of the country and are ready to provide necessary cooperation in the national interest.
He also spoke about the development of Chittagong. Shahjahan Chowdhury said that Chittagong is one of the driving forces of the country's economy. The goal is to transform this region into a modern international standard city in the future through planned development. He expressed hope that if the 16 members of parliament of Chittagong work together, it will be possible to take this region to new heights of development.
The program was presided over by Amir of Chittagong Metropolitan Jamaat Muhammad Nazrul Islam and moderated by Metropolitan Secretary Muhammad Nurul Amin. The party's Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar spoke as the chief guest.
At the program, he expressed concern about the ongoing situation in the Middle East, strongly condemned the attacks on Palestine and Iran, and emphasized the unity of the Muslim world.
Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Shahadat Hossain, politician Abu Sufian, and leaders of various political, social, and professional organizations were also present at the iftar mahfil.
