Football fields have become a death trap. Nearly 100 people have died in clashes between fans after a match at a tournament in N'Djamena, Guinea, in honor of military junta leader Mamadi Doumbia.

A doctor at a local hospital said, *"There are bodies lining the corridors of the hospital. The death toll is about 100."* The deaths were caused by gunshots and stampedes in the fan riot.

On the other hand, 79 people, including 10 police officers, were injured in clashes between fans of the two teams after a match between Karl-Jessic Jena and BMG Chemie Leipzig in Europe's fourth-tier German league.

Chemie Leipzig has blamed Leipzig fans for infiltrating the home team's gallery and throwing firecrackers. Police used pepper spray to control the situation.

Such riots are not new in the history of football. Earlier, in 2022, 125 people lost their lives in a stampede at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Indonesia. In 2001, 126 people died in a similar incident at the Ohen Jan Stadium in Accra, Ghana.
Concerned parties around the world have called for strict security and measures to control the behavior of fans to prevent such riots and killings at football fields.

This is a call for everyone to ensure that the love of football does not turn into violence.
