Neymar's jab proves astrologer's prediction wrong

German economist Joachim Clement's prediction about Brazil in the 2026 World Cup has been proven wrong by the Seleção for now. His mathematical model said that Brazil would be a big disappointment in this tournament. However, the five-time world champions defeated Japan in the last 32 match and secured the last 16.
Brazil fell behind early in the match. Japan's Kaishu Sano scored to give the team the lead. However, Brazil equalized in the second half with a goal from Casemiro. Later, Gabriel Martinelli's goal in added time gave the Seleção a dramatic victory.
After the match, Brazilian star Neymar Jr. took a jab at Clement on social media. He directly tagged him and wrote, "Try again at the next World Cup."
Clement went beyond football statistics and used factors such as the economy, population and weather in his prediction. But the results on the field have not matched his expectations. Brazil's victory has given the team's fans new hope.
