Local government advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan recently said at a program that he sometimes goes to Nila Market on the 300 Feet Road in the capital to eat duck meat in the morning. If the shops there are closed, he goes to the luxurious Westin Hotel in Gulshan. His comment has sparked widespread discussion on social media and political circles.
Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha also reacted to this. In a status posted on his Facebook page on Thursday midnight, he wrote— “Once upon a time, I used to look for rice in the canteen, now I look for duck in the Westin.”
This status is being seen as suggestive in political circles. Although Partha did not clearly state to whom he made this comment.
As of this writing, Parthar's status has received over 77,000 likes, 20,500 comments, and has been shared over 8,000 times. Many are taking the status as a joke, while others are finding political satire behind it.
