A case has been filed in Madhavadi, Narsingdi, on charges of twisting the leg of a three-month-old baby. After the video of the incident went viral on social media, the administration and law enforcement agencies started an investigation.
Police said that the investigation into the incident is underway based on the case filed by the District Social Services Department. At the same time, initiatives have been taken to send the child to the district hospital for medical examination and necessary X-rays to confirm his physical condition.
Madhavadi police station said that two people have been arrested after the case. However, the main accused woman has been absconding since the incident. The operation to arrest her is ongoing.
A mobile phone related to the incident has been seized as part of the investigation. Investigators are also investigating how the video was recorded and how it was spread on social media.
Meanwhile, the child's family has claimed that the child is currently healthy and has not suffered any serious injury to her leg. They also mentioned that the matter has been resolved within the family. However, the police say that the Department of Social Services has filed a case as the state needs to take legal action in cases like child abuse allegations.
According to the police, the real cause of the incident will be determined by reviewing the information, video footage and statements of the people concerned during the investigation. The doctors' reports will also play an important role in the investigation.
Local residents have demanded a fair investigation into the incident and action against the guilty as per the law.
