Student protest mural in Feni

Even a week ago in Feni, the random posters pasted on the wall seemed to fill with discomfort. Recently, after the fall of the government, the language of protest is emerging in the colors of youth murals and calligraphy. They want to break the chains of subjugation and injustice and sing the song of equality in new Bengal. On the way, whoever remembers the martyrs who died in the movement of anti-discrimination students like Shravan or Mochad, the artist's colors seem to convey this.

On the surface, it can be seen that colorful graffiti painted by students and volunteers adorns the walls of various areas including Feni Government College premises, Doctorpara, College Road, Masterpara, Mizan Road, Rajnandini Dighir Par and Muktbazar. From the district city to the upazilas, the story of the changing new Bangladesh, the memorable moments and heroic stories of the student movement have emerged in the colors of youth. Students of various schools and colleges and members of voluntary organizations voluntarily participated in this program. This initiative is to remember the sacrifice of the participants in the student movement, they say.

Students say that these activities are being conducted with the conviction of building a new Bangladesh without discrimination. Apart from this, this initiative is to remember the sacrifice of all the martyrs who were killed in the movement of the students and what the society or the state wants from the next generation.

A student named Mahbooba Tabassum Ima said during the wall painting in the city's doctor's neighborhood, such a beautiful environment was created by the united efforts of the students. This time we all want to play a role in reforming the country. Apart from this, we are presenting various pictures in writing to remember our martyred brothers and keep their memory.
Another person named Kamrul Arefin said that various contexts of the movement have been highlighted on the wall so that the next generation can learn from what happened in the country in the month of July-August 2024 and play a role in building a beautiful country. From the role of the police in the movement to the heroism of Shaheed Mochad, Shravan or Abu Saeed, communal harmony, the creation of a corruption-free Bangladesh and the fall of dictatorship through coups, importance has been given in graffiti.

Feni University student Siam Sajjad said, "We didn't see 52 or 71, but we saw 2024." From the student movement to the fall of the dictatorial government in the last two months, the young generation has passed this time. Hundreds of student-volunteers are working voluntarily to highlight those issues on the wall. Parents have also come forward with various support including food, water.

Abu Saeed's heroic story is painted on the wall of Sonali Bank adjacent to Shanti Chatwar in the city. He was remembered by drawing a Facebook post of Shaheed Shravan of Feni next to him. A student of Chittagong University named Ibrahim Bhuya said, Abu Saeed has shown this generation how to fight. I have tried to present here the picture of how he was killed by the police.
In this regard, a volunteer named Nishad Adnan told Dhaka Post that graffiti, typography and calligraphy activities have been going on for 9 days organized by Feni district volunteer family. Common students are also working on wall painting. In the space of a week, starting from the district town and the walls of various upazilas, the picture has changed.

One named Osman Gani said that no fatigue was seen among the students in the last few days in such activities. Ignoring the rain and hot sun, they worked all day and changed the image of the city. Common people are also appreciating graffiti and calligraphy. These are positive and happy for us for the changing Bangladesh.
