Shamim Osman's video is viral

A 29-second video of former parliamentarian Shamim Osman and his associates firing on protesters demanding quota reform in Narayanganj has gone viral on social media. The video went viral yesterday (Saturday).
In the 29-second video, Shamim Osman and several hundred of his followers, armed with firearms and sharp weapons, chased from the city's Chashadha area on Bangabandhu Road towards the city's Railway Gate No. 2 area.
There, Shamim Osman's brother-in-law and Bangladesh Cricket Board director Tanveer Ahmed (Titu) went to shoot. In the video, Shamim Osman's son (Ayan) father-in-law Fayez Uddin (Lovelu) and his son Minhajul Islam and Shamim Osman's close Shital Paribahan bus director Anup Kumar Saha, Ward No. 12 Awami League President Niazul Islam (in 2018) raised arms on Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy. discussed) etc. can be seen.
It is known that on the afternoon of July 19th, leaders and workers of Awami League, Chhatra League and Jubo League took out a procession under the leadership of Shamim Osman on Chashadha Bangabandhu Road in the city. The video was recorded on a mobile phone from the top of a tall building.
Besides, Raju Ahmed, the Narayanganj district representative of DBC News and Yugantar newspaper, is seen holding a firearm in the video. Rajku was later dismissed yesterday for allegedly engaging in unprofessional activities.
Meanwhile, on July 19, a 6-year-old child, Riya Gop, was shot in the head while playing on the roof of a four-storey house in Naimati area of the city. Later he died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. It has been alleged that Riya Gop was shot dead by Shamim Osman and his accomplices.
According to district administration sources, Shamim and his son Ayan and their follower Shah Nizam have arms licenses.
In this regard, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Amir Khosru said, the video has come to our notice. Necessary action will be taken if illegal use of licensed legal weapons is found. When asked about the death of child Riya Gop, he said that there was no policeman in that area that day. Riya Gop's death is under investigation.
