According to various statistics, the number of child rapes and murders after rape is increasing alarmingly in the country. In recent times, new questions have been raised about the safety and security of children. Experts say that this situation cannot be changed without effective political will and social responsibility.
According to information from non-governmental organizations, at least 118 children have been raped in the country from January to May 20 of this year. At the same time, 46 more children have been victims of attempted rape. In addition, at least 17 children have been killed after rape. The incident of four child murders after rape in the last two weeks has raised new concerns.
According to analysts, the safety of children is not only a matter of law and order; it is also related to social values, morality and state responsibility. They believe that it is necessary to develop specialized systems to prevent child abuse.
A section of experts has proposed the formation of a separate commission for child protection. According to them, it is necessary to implement special supervision and a zero tolerance policy to ensure the safety of children in educational institutions and religious institutions.
Psychiatrists say that the culture of not socially identifying criminals in society is also increasing the problem. According to them, all parties - family, society and the state - must work together to ensure a safe environment for children.
Although the Constitution and the National Child Policy state that children have the right to life, safety and dignity, those concerned have also raised questions about how effective it is in reality.
Experts say that to ensure the safety of children, equal importance should be given not only to enacting laws, but also to its effective implementation, speedy trial and increasing social awareness.
