Chhatra Dal welcomes winners with flowers at Shahjalal Hall at CU

A new chapter in student politics at Chittagong University (CU) has begun at Shahjalal Hall. The hall branch of Chhatra Dal has welcomed the winning candidates in the recently held student union elections with flowers. Students believe that this initiative has given a different positive message in university politics.
The event was held at Shahjalal Hall on Saturday (October 25) night. Representatives of Shibir, Chhatra Dal and independent panels participated among those who were the winners in the elections. Despite differences in political ideologies, the message of camaraderie that Chhatra Dal has given by sitting everyone together and exchanging greetings has become an example in the academic arena.
Kazi Mamunur Rashid Shuvo, one of the organizers of the university Chhatra Dal and the closest candidate for the post of VP, was present at the event. Syed Rakibul Quader Niyon, Sajjad Hossain Nabid, Tanvir Hasan, Tanmoy and many others were also present.
The speakers at the event said, “A new politics has begun at Chittagong University. Despite differences in ideology, everyone must move forward through respect and cooperation.” They believe that if an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation is maintained on campus, then it is possible to get out of the politics of violence and division in the name of politics.
A top leader of Chhatra Dal said, “We want the university to be a place of free thought and democratic practice. May the atmosphere of harmony that has been created in Shahjalal Hall today spread to other halls as well.”
The students present at the time also said that such initiatives will pave the way for coexistence and mutual understanding in the academic arena. According to them, “CU politics is often heated, but a peaceful and respectful environment like today is a reflection of true education.”
The university’s teachers and students are seeing this initiative as positive. They believe that Chhatra Dal’s behavior at Shahjalal Hall will set a new example in CU student politics in the future—where not differences, but mutual respect will be the mainstay of leadership.
