Young Bangladeshi researcher Marjana Akhter has achieved great recognition in the international arena. She has been included in the prestigious Asian Scientist 100–2026 list, which recognizes the work of talented and emerging scientists from various Asian countries.

One of the major achievements of Marjana Akhter's research, who completed her MSc in Microbiology from the Department of Microbiology and Hygiene of Bangladesh Agricultural University, is the identification of the Genotype IIIb strain of Chicken Infectious Anaemia Virus (CIAV) in poultry for the first time in the country. This is considered an important scientific breakthrough in poultry research.

Earlier, in December last year, she represented Bangladesh in front of international researchers and policymakers in Geneva, Switzerland, which is considered an important achievement in the country's research sector. To be included in this list, published since 2016, significant contributions to research and international recognition are required.

Bangladesh's Firdousi Quader (2021) and Senjuti Saha (2023) have already been included in this list. In that vein, Marjana Akhter's achievement has become a new inspiration for young researchers and female scientists in the country.
