TikToker Prince Mamun arrested again

Dhaka's Bhatara Police Station on Thursday (August 14) again arrested popular TikToker Abdullah Al Mamun alias Prince Mamun (25). Bhatara Police Station OC Md. Rakibul Hasan said, "Prince Mamun was arrested early Thursday morning based on a warrant from a learned court."

Incidentally, Prince Mamun was previously arrested in a rape case filed at the capital's Cantonment Police Station in June last year. The complainant in this case was Laila Akhtar Farhad. Laila had also filed a complaint against Mamun under the Cyber Security Act for spreading false, misleading and defamatory information online.

However, Laila Akhtar's case against Prince Mamun was later dismissed by the tribunal. The court of Dhaka's Cyber Tribunal Judge Nur Alam announced this order on July 13. This information was confirmed to the media by Jewel Mia, a bench assistant of the relevant tribunal.

Prince Mamun's rise in the social media world was mainly through the 'TikTok' and 'Likee' platforms. He used to post his own music videos and other content there, which gave him recognition and widespread popularity among the younger generation.
