Popular Bangladeshi actress Kazi Naushaba Ahmed is going to make her debut in Tollywood for the first time. She is making her debut in West Bengal's films with the film 'Jat Kand Kolkatatei' directed by Anik Dutt. The film is releasing on September 26, during the Durga Puja season.

In the film, Naushaba plays the role of a Bangladeshi girl who comes to Kolkata in search of her roots. She is opposite popular Tollywood actor Abir Chatterjee. The film is produced by Friends Communication, produced by Prabal Haldar and Firdousal Hasan. Music is composed by Debajyoti Mishra.

Naushaba is very excited about the release of her first Tollywood film. Although she is not able to directly participate in the film's promotions, her heart is in Kolkata. In a recent interview with Anandabazar Online, she said, “What I had dreamed of is now coming true. Although I am not there, it seems like my soul is roaming the streets of Kolkata.”

Naushaba was asked how she felt about the posters of her and Abir Chatterjee being plastered all over the streets of Kolkata. In response, she said that this was the moment her dream came true.

The topic of Bangladesh also came up in the interview. When asked about Durga Puja and the recent social situation, Naushaba said, “This is how we live. Even though some sporadic incidents are exaggerated, in reality there is harmony. I shot as Durga without any bouncers, and girls wearing burqas came and hugged me. This is our normality.”

Recalling his childhood memories, he said, “When I was a child, I used to eat basil leaves when I had a cold or cough. There was a basil tree in my grandfather’s house. Now I see how much people talk about these things. When Durga Puja comes in Old Dhaka, everything around comes to a standstill from the 23rd.”

The movie has already become a topic of discussion across Kolkata. Posters have been put up in various places in the city, and teasers and trailers have been released. Movie lovers are sure that this debut of a Bangladeshi actress in Tollywood will add an extra dimension to the festive atmosphere of this Durga Puja.
