This information was given in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary Nasrin Sultana on Sunday (May 24).
The notification said that an inter-ministerial meeting was held on April 12, 2026, to review the collection, preservation and management of animal skins for sacrifice on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. In that meeting, it was decided that text messages will be broadcast on television on the proper skinning of animals after sacrifice, use of adequate salt and proper preservation of raw hides.
In addition, a control room has been opened in the Ministry of Commerce to coordinate leather management activities. A number (01617-338067) has been given for communication.
