The world is now wary of India’s military might — this is what Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said. Addressing reporters at the beginning of the monsoon session of the Indian Parliament, he said, “The whole world has seen India’s military might.”
He said that the recently concluded ‘Operation Sindhu’ is a tangible proof of India’s strategic capability and commitment to self-defense. The strike on the terrorist base in just 22 minutes is an example of the Indian Army’s skill and technological advancement. In Modi’s words, “It was a ‘Made in India’ operation — where such success has been achieved using weapons made in India.”
Modi also said that the Indian defense industry is now becoming a symbol of global trust. The demand for ‘Made in India’ weapons is increasing around the world, which is a major success of Atmanirbhar India’s defense initiative.
Along with military successes, the Prime Minister also mentioned the improvement in the country’s space activities. He said, “Indian astronaut Subhanshu Shukla’s entry into the International Space Station is a matter of pride for the people of India.” According to him, it proves that “India is strengthening its presence not only on earth but also in space.”
There have also been indications that the government wants a discussion in Parliament on the issue of ‘Operation Sindoor’ around the monsoon session. The Prime Minister expressed optimism and said, “Both the ruling and opposition parties will speak together in the national interest.”
On the other hand, several opposition parties have also sought a discussion in Parliament on the alleged mediation of US President Donald Trump in the India-Pakistan ceasefire. The Centre has indicated that the government is ready to participate in the discussion on this issue as well.
