Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Iran's attack has reportedly set fire to Israel's largest oil refinery.
The attack was carried out at the Bazan Oil Refinery in Haifa, Israel, according to international media. Flames and smoke were seen rising from inside the refinery after the attack.
According to reports, the affected area was part of or near the refinery's highly sensitive infrastructure. Although this facility has been targeted several times before, concerns are growing about the extent of the damage this time.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that rescue teams were sent to the scene immediately after receiving reports of a hit at a location in northern Israel. However, no immediate information about casualties was confirmed.
It should be noted that an attack on the same facility had occurred earlier on March 19, where a missile strike caused limited damage and a temporary power outage.
According to analysts, such attacks on important energy facilities could further escalate regional tensions and could also have an impact on global energy markets.
