Tensions have increased again in the border area of southern Lebanon. The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah claimed that they launched a major attack targeting an Israeli army position. According to the group, at one stage, the Israeli troops were forced to leave their positions in the face of the attack.

Hezbollah said in a statement that its fighters launched three consecutive attacks targeting Israeli soldiers stationed inside a house in the Bayder al-Fakani area of Taibeh city. This led to intense clashes in the area.

The group claimed that several members of the Israeli forces were injured during the attack. Later, a military helicopter was sent to the scene to evacuate the wounded soldiers. Hezbollah also claimed that the helicopter rescued the wounded.

However, no official statement has been made by the Israeli military on this matter so far. Israel has not confirmed any casualties.

According to analysts, the instability in the Middle East over the Gaza war is now having an impact on the Lebanese border. Over the past few days, there have been a number of exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah in various areas of southern Lebanon, raising new concerns across the region.

Local sources say that panic has spread among the general population in the border areas. Many families have started leaving the area in search of safe shelter. International observers fear a major conflict if the situation worsens.
