Israeli Ambassador's heated exchange with UN official

A heated exchange of words took place between the Israeli ambassador and a senior UN official at a UN meeting in New York. The incident is being seen as an unusual and discussed incident in diplomatic circles.
During a discussion on the safety of women and children in conflict zones, Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon criticized UN Special Representative Pramila Patten and questioned her impartiality. He alleged that the report had taken a biased position on Israel.
When the situation became heated at one point in the meeting, another UN official, Vanessa Fraser, intervened and called for refraining from personal attacks. However, Ambassador Danon responded to her comments at that time, which created more tension in the meeting.
