After next one week lost NID can be reprinted directly from online without DG copy. Copy of General Diary (GD) will no longer be required to renew lost National Identity Card (NID). In this case, the card can be withdrawn only after submitting the specified fee online from Bikash, said NID System Analyst Engineer Mohammad Ariful Islam.
He said, we are currently working on the software. After next one week NID can be collected directly from online without copy of GD. This proposal has been initiated by NID Wing after approval of Secretary Sir.
Officials said that this initiative has been taken in the light of policy decision to facilitate NID services. As a result of this, the instructions to give the copy of GD to the service receivers in case of reprinting of National Identity Card will be removed. Because the service receivers have to suffer a lot to get GD. That is why this initiative has been taken.
