Instructions to complete the distribution of smart cards at the earliest

The Election Commission (EC) has directed field officials to distribute smart cards quickly. Apart from this, it has been asked to take up the activities in upazilas where the distribution has not started.
EC Secretary Shafiul Azim has recently sent the directive to NID Director General and all Regional Election Officers.
It is said that the distribution of smart cards stored in the field office should be taken as soon as possible. For this reason, distribution work should be organized by inaugurating even if it is done by local level senior officials.
It is known that the distribution of smart cards has been officially completed in 357 upazila/ police station election offices across the country. At present smart card distribution is going on in 18 upazilas/ police station election offices. Apart from this, the smart card distribution program is waiting to start in 23 upazilas.
