A court has granted a three-day remand to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's business advisor Salman F Rahman in the capital's Jatrabari police station murder case. The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Saifuzzaman passed the order after a hearing on Monday.
Earlier, the investigation officer of the case, Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector Mojahidul Islam, applied for a seven-day remand of Salman F Rahman.
On behalf of the state, Public Prosecutor Omar Faruk Farooqui of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court heard the case in favor of the remand. On the other hand, the lawyers for the accused filed a petition for cancellation of the remand and bail. After hearing both sides, the court rejected the bail application of the accused and granted remand.
